Calling all ladies. Start your holiday shopping early and enjoy a night out with the gals. High Desert Church Victorville campus (HDC) will host a special “Ladies Night Out” event featuring a craft fair, snacks, activities, pictures with friends and family, music, guest speaker, and more!

Ladies Night out is Friday, October 4 at 5:00 pm.

The event is led by a group of women who serve as leaders in various women’s ministry teams at the HDC Victorville campus. HDC currently has three additional campus sites: Apple Valley, Hesperia, and Phelan.

“This evening event is an opportunity to reach out to our community as well as help our local home and craft small businesses,” said Joanna Franke, a women’s ministry leader. “When ladies get a night out, we like to have good food, fellowship, shopping, and fun. That’s what this event will offer.”

The craft fair will consist of all handmade items from 40 local vendors from the community. There will be homemade foods such as salsa, jelly, cookies, and candies. Other craft items include jewelry, T-shirts, handcrafted wood signs, paintings, photography, Christmas and fall décor, soaps, mugs, books by local authors, and more.

Some crafters make it a family affair by including their children ranging as young as fourth grade to high school. There are mother and daughter teams that are selling homemade scented slime and fifteen-year-old, autistic 7th grader, Emily McClean will be selling her homemade potholders with mother, Janet.

“This is a great way for people from HDC and the community who have home businesses to sell their products while even including their families and glorifying God with their talents,” said Sara Smart, women’s ministry leader and organizer of the craft fair.

The craft fair begins at 5:00 pm in the gym. A worship service will begin at 7:00 with live music from Megan Tibbits and her band. After the music, there will be games, activities, and prizes donated by the women’s ministry teams.

Guest speaker, Jann Cobb from Flipside Church in Fontana will present an inspirational message centered around the event theme, “Shine” which is based on the Scripture from

Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

Jan has been married for 35 years to Kevin Cobb, Community Life Pastor at Flipside, and is a mother of two who enjoys talking about life and what’s she’s learned along the way.

“This is also a way to promote the women’s ministry such as women’s weekly Bible studies and retreats offered at HDC,” said Franke.

The craft fair will open again after the event in the auditorium where ladies may resume their shopping until 10:00 pm.

“We had close to 600 women attend last year’s event,” said Franke. “So, we hope to see a good turnout from church members and the community.”

Tickets for the event are $5 and available online at–ladies-night-out/Or can be purchased at the door. For more information about HDC see
